Kit set to release critically acclaimed Pictures Postcards, Dreams, Unsung Songs with new single 'What If I Fell'

Imagine being endlessly present, days fall just like the last, a full twenty-four real and offline, the innocents, no big cloud, no connectivity, no frames of reference, in those empty spaces Lein and Michelle's star rises in Kit.

Liverpool band Kit are set to release a compilation album "Picture, Postcards, Dreams, Unsung Songs" that features early releases and previously unreleased songs. This collection invites a new generation to enjoy the beauty and grace that defines Kit's legacy.

In 1988 Kit released their debut single "My Design" on Play Hard Records that caught the attention of John Peel and led to Kit recording a session at the Maida Vale Studios. Subsequent releases included the critically acclaimed 12 inch single "Cheating My Heart' taking the coveted title of Melody Maker's single of the week. This success was followed by their debut album 'Unshakable Faith" propelling Kit forward to new listeners. Kit's ascent framed by John Peel, Janice Long, Mark E Smith and The Go-betweens'.

Kit took a ticket to ride touring extensively with the Happy Mondays, the Stone Roses, Shack and the Bodine's. Memories and misadventures asleep at the wheel, transit van shuttling across the divide, North to South, East to West.

1990, heels clicked, wishes followed to, Kit pushed their creativity collaborating with the visionary Martin Hannett at Strawberry Studios, the producer behind Joy Division's "Unknown Pleasures". Resulting in their critically acclaimed 12-inch single "Overshadowing Me" accompanied by a glorious 16mm black and white, filmed at the iconic Hacienda, featuring the historic waterfront shore side of The Three Graces and Lein and Michelle sat on a Lark Lane rooftop as a VW camper meanders down the infamous lane. Their cinematic vision underscoring their captivating Kit/Hannett score.

An industry obsessed with the "boy genius" the music discourse prevailed; the industry is a slow processor.  And, or not, Kit cast aside those social ills with a promise and a desire to inspire, creating each in the other an unshakable faith. A poised cool quiet confidence in re-imagining their pre punk/post punk influences skewing the isism.

Trace the missives in the run-out grooves and the slays on the sleeve notes. No declarations, I am, you are, we are. We are who we are.  Kit blissful and joyous in the spellbinding "I Love Her Like Mad" afore Katie kissed a girl, Billie had eaten lunch and Arlo parked. Miles and time bind, fast forward to 2024, Kit are ready to drop a collection of beautifully crafted songs, love letters, a message to the broken hearted in between the space of stars are songs for lovers.

These songs stand as a testament to their enduring and undeniable talent revealing the depth and complexity of their work. Journalist Liz Naylor aptly captured the essence of Kit, describing them "as a truly great band whose music transcends time, their music is mystical, romantically exciting and utterly unique. Kit proving that true greatness only reveals itself with the passage of time."  These much-awaited releases will continue to inspire and resonate, joyful, wonder and hope mapping the heart turning backwards towards the future.
